Good Looks and Good Brains: A perfect match or a perfect mismatch?
The battle between good brains and great looks has been a long-going one, which still stands unresolved. One often hears youngsters being questioned about what’s more important for them in their life partners; their looks or their brains. The popular reality show, ‘Beauty and the Geek’, brings these two polar opposites together in its episodes, and forces them to coexist in what’s referred to as the ‘Ultimate Social Experiment.’ What we’re trying to figure out here is whether a beautiful girl can be attracted towards a geeky guy and vice versa.
While such a situation is unlikely to arise in reality, the Beauty and the Geek episodes serve as an excellent platform for us to see what would happen if beauties and geeks were truly paired up. It seems to be a social norm for beautiful people to get attracted towards each other. If the laws of evolution are to be trusted, then this happens because we have a basic instinct of getting attracted to people with good looks, as they have a better set of genes than their not-so-attractive counterparts.
Even though many may call this theory as false, the truth is that this is an effort that we all make subconsciously. However, these laws of attraction seem to fail miserably more often than not. If mere physical attraction is the basis of a relationship, it often meets the bad fate of abrupt termination.
However, in Beauty and the Geek full episodes the kind of bond that develops between the girls and guys on the show is quite an extraordinary one, since in this case, they have a lot more to discover about each other before they think of physical intimacy. The format of Beauty and the Geek is the perfect case of ‘opposites attract’, and it’s indeed very interesting to watch full episodes of the show, which depict the manner in which these youngsters embrace their differences, and discover facets of their personalities that they were barely aware of before.
Most of the so-called geeks on the show are guys who are devoid of any social sense whatsoever, yet have brains that are good enough to crack the most complicated math problem. On the other hand, the beauties are vain girls, who are madly fond of their makeup boxes, and fumble when it comes to something as simple as addition and subtraction. You can tune in to Beauty and the Geek online right away to see what happens when these unlikely pairs are forced to share bedrooms, and spend practically every moment of their lives together, in this battle of the book-smart versus the street-smart!
